Welcome to our website and to our church in Mitcham, Surrey. Everyone is invited to come and join us, either in church at a service or by emailing us at mitchamparishchurch@uk2.net We are here to offer appropriate levels of support, comfort, and challenge to everyone in our community - to guide people to the love of God and to help those who enquire to discover the good news of Jesus Christ, who is the model for our lives and the focus for our worship. By the Spirit of Christ at work in us, we are learning to live by trust in God, serving our neighbour, loving one another, and proclaiming God's kingdom on earth. Church people are simply those who have chosen to respond to God's presence, and to offer thanks back for all that is good in our lives. We also recognise our need of God's love and compassion, especially when there is sadness, grief or tension in our lives. The gospel of Jesus Christ has a bias to the poor, the outcast, the broken, and those imprisoned by sin - see Luke 4:14--21. So we are not saints, but ordinary people who know (however vaguely) that we need God, and the support of God's people, in order to become more fully human. In this process of discovery, we are helped by mutual support, the reading of scripture, regular times of prayer, and by sharing in the worship that is offered here week by week - see 'Service Times' above. If you are new to this church Everyone is welcome in this church, whatever your age, beliefs (or doubts), race, disabilities, or sexual orientation. We simply come together, whoever we may be, to receive the grace of God from Christ, and to learn to live our lives according to the guidance of his Holy Spirit. Local church links Mitcham Parish Church is also known as St. Peter & St. Paul's Church. We are an Anglican church in the Mitcham Group Ministry with St.Barnabas, St. Mark and St.Olave. We are part of the deanery of Merton in the diocese of Southwark. We are also an active member of Churches Together in Mitcham, which includes Mitcham Baptist Church, The Catholic Church (also dedicated to Ss.Peter & Paul, just to confuse you!), Mitcham Methodist Church and various free churches, notably All Nations Revival Church.
